Wow, this week has gone by fast, don’t you think? I thought it would be fun to finish a gorgeous little Swedish apartment full of quirky touches and lovely ideas for the weekend – what do you think?
A former milk store, the ground floor living area is 28 square meters (301 square feet) in Stockholm, consisting of a kitchen, a bathroom and one room combining a hallway, sitting room and bedroom. While the overall look is earthy and calm, there are some fun details — like the blue door, stripes, and other touches — that add a contemporary feel to the space.
I also love using textiles, sheepskins, and pillows which add a really cozy feel to fall.
Falcumin in!
Repurposed textiles such as antique embroidered coverings have become very popular as window treatments. Here, a beautiful old paper has been clipped into the window to prevent prying eyes from looking in – while allowing light to stream in from above.
I love the old coffee table too – so beautiful and cozy!
The entryway may be small – but the owners have plenty of storage space. Mirror doors help to filter in light and brighten the space – as well as helping storage fit seamlessly.
Doors can take up an amazing amount of space. Here, a cute yellow curtain was used to close off the kitchen from the main living area.
When space is tight, you need to make every inch count. Sorting boxes are installed on the side of the chest of drawers to keep papers in order.
A simple curtain can be drawn to provide privacy at night.
Curtains were also used in the kitchen to hide less aesthetic items such as recycling bins.
I love how the inside of the cutlery drawer was painted blue to add an element of surprise! Can you imagine doing something like this?
What a special little space – so well thought out and unique.
Did you enjoy this tour too? Are there any ideas that caught your attention that you might implement in your home?
Have a wonderful couple of days – thank you so much for stopping by and for all your thoughtful comments. I’m looking forward to pouring myself a coffee this weekend and responding to reading them all and responding to every single one of them.
Dear store and happy Friday!
