Are you ready for a mid-week break? This simple apartment in Copenhagen offers the comfort you may be looking for. Home to Alisan – a Londoner who moved to the Danish capital with her husband and their baby daughter two and a half years ago – this space exudes warmth and tranquility. I have had the pleasure of meeting Alisan several times; She’s as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside, and it’s no surprise that her home reflects the same beauty.
Located in the vibrant area of Vesterbro, this two-bedroom family rental comes with its own creative constraints, which means they’ve had to embrace some innovative solutions, such as command strips! However, thanks to its warm natural materials, coordinated lighting, and mixed furnishings, this oasis feels welcoming and calming in the heart of Copenhagen.
Here are some shots from Alysanne’s home, along with her thoughts on creating this haven.
Isn’t it a nice tour? I think it’s the simplicity of the decor that makes everything look so natural and “in place”. Calmness embodied – this is what I crave in my not-quiet mind! Seeing her little girl took me back to when my girls were little (they are 16 and 14 now, how does time fly by so fast?).
Did Alysanne’s house resonate with you as well? Are there any details that caught your attention? If so, I’d love your input in the comments! And if you’re curious about the provenance of any of the pieces, feel free to ask — I’ll do my best to help.
