Can you believe it’s only two weeks until September? I always look forward to building the nest in the fall. And while I’m very sad that sweet Jack isn’t here, as I wrote in my books Beautiful Life and Habitat , bringing beauty into our home and our lives can be therapeutic.
So, I pulled myself together and took my own advice this week. I did what I knew was right.
My husband still plans to get back to painting our front door and porch next week, but I wanted to do something simple to bring a touch of fall inside. I found everything I needed on Wayfair.
When your space is small or uncomfortable, it can be a bit difficult to find affordable, beautiful furniture that fits the dimensions of the room and meets the needs of the family. Wayfair has a lot of smaller, rustic furniture and accessories, making it a lot easier.
The colors in this rug were the perfect touch to add a layer of comfort, and it also came in a smaller size (3’6 x 5’6). I love that the colors of the rug tie in with our color palette. It sets the tone for our style and color palette at the front door.
This semi-circular table adds a touch of elegance and makes our small entryway functional. I was looking for a table similar to the one we have but with a lower shelf and deeper drawer. This is the table I was hoping to find! The color is so pretty and it fits the country style too.
This beautifully woven lamp shade is tall and narrow, leaving room for wicker storage boxes or whatever else we might want to put in there. When you have a small round surface, it can be hard to make it functional, but these woven boxes work great!
Finally, the wreath adds a welcoming touch of fall. It’s really cute — I love how the color pairs so well with the door and the furniture here, too.
Now when we walk into this room it feels like a warm, gentle hug. It’s a comforting reminder of all the love and beauty that makes our home our sanctuary in all seasons. I have a few more ideas for this space, but these are just the beginning.
Thank you all for your kind comments on my last post about Jack. I read every single one and take every word to heart—you are a blessing to me and our family.
