The Pulp team’s work ranges from new construction to simple renovation projects. But we also love doing little renovations! These are smart home updates and furniture bundles that provide an easy way to update a home. For a 6,000 square foot historic Tudor home in Seattle, our clients loved the bones of the property, but it was definitely in need of a facelift. Pulp came to the rescue with interiors full of character and flair. Here’s a look at the before and the gorgeous after!

There are stunning architectural features like stained glass windows and original 1913 doors in this beautiful home and we definitely wanted to keep them. But at the same time, we wanted to mix modern details and functionality. A sculpted glass light fixture and contemporary landscaping help refresh the first impression of the entryway. We also removed the old wallpaper and runner in the drawer to make room for a bolder look.
Dining room
Just outside the entrance – and through some stunning double doors – is the dining room. The beautiful millwork and unique windows in this room are so beautiful that they are sure to stay. This is where partial renovation is key. It allows us to make updates that seem small but have a big impact, like adding Porter Teleo wallpaper on the ceiling, or a stunning Oly lighting fixture.
the kitchen
In a partial renovation, the key is to avoid major construction work so our clients can get to a home they love more quickly, but without sacrificing style and function. In the kitchen, there were some odd details like the light fixtures and tiles that we knew we needed to replace. Attention to furnishings and details can update a space in a jiffy!
Living room
The living room gave us some empty space to work with, but also included great features like built-ins, a stone fireplace, and a great view! Pulp used art and architecture to inspire the furnishings in the living room. The embroidered fabric on the sofas has been creatively placed for visual appeal, with the seats covered in performance velvet fabric. The swivel chairs can transform to enjoy the lake view or can be moved into the perfect position for conversation.
The great thing about our partial renovation service is that it allows us to rethink how spaces in the home are used, without having to bring in a construction crew. This house had a lot of weird nooks and crannies, like this alcove right off the living room. We’ve been able to reimagine it as a comfortable seating area perfect for reading or conversation.
Primary bedroom
This room was… a lot. With its eye-catching patterns and wild colors, the bedroom was far from cozy. And the decor was really distracting from this amazing view of the lake. We wanted to make this space a haven with a calming palette. Subtle textures and patterns provide calm character and character, including fabrics from Pulp’s S.Harris collection.
