How to make Lipton Onion Soup Burger

Differences:
Use Worcestershire sauce or beef broth instead of water. We also enjoy these homemade burgers with a little black pepper added to the meat mixture or sprinkled on the patties. Instead of cheddar cheese, you can use slices of American cheese, pepper jack cheese, Gruyere cheese, Swiss cheese, or any cheese that melts well. Barbecue sauce is also delicious in place of ketchup or mayonnaise.

Combine Lipton Onion Soup Mix, ground beef, water, and egg yolks in a large bowl. Gently mix until well combined. (I like to use clean hands, but you can use a spoon or potato masher.) Divide the meat mixture into four hamburger patties. Make a well in the center of each patty to prevent the edges from curling. Heat a skillet over medium or medium-high heat. Cook the burgers for 3-5 minutes per side. If desired, top each patty with cheese for the last minute of cooking, then cover the skillet with a lid. Spread mayonnaise and ketchup on the top bun, then top with lettuce, tomato, and patty. Serve immediately.
