Well, I did it! I sold my first novel, HOUSE IN BLOOM! Eek, I still can’t believe it! After five years of blind hope, countless rejections, and deciding that giving up was not an option, I had achieved a lifelong dream. It’s been a long time coming, and I’ve been doubting my fate as an author for days. And through that, I held onto a thread of hope that told me my story was meant to be shared. And you were right, in the fall of 2025.
Seeing an ad on Publishers Marketplace still seems surreal. My literary agent called me two weeks ago with the offer, and I was shocked, to say the least. I pulled into the Kohl’s parking lot to regroup, absorb every last detail, and file it into my mental vault. When you’re used to hearing no, yes comes in a different form. So, until everything was signed, I didn’t want to say anything. The book contract was officially signed on September 26th, my dad’s birthday!!! Can you believe that?! I made this video right after I got the offer. I think it was a sign.
Thank you for joining me on this publishing journey. The statistics are against a debut author like me, so I’m very grateful for this opportunity with the publisher of my dreams, Alcove Press. Only about 5% of traditionally submitted manuscripts are considered, and only 1-2% are published. This is crazy, isn’t it?!
You can find more on my author page and HOUSE IN BLOOM. You can also read more about the craft writing books I’ve used entirely in my writing game.
Have a nice day, friend!
