Pulp Design Studios is known for brave design, which means bold, confident, daring and cool. Bold design in the kitchen is about making a statement while still delivering functionality in creative and out-of-the-ordinary ways. Over the next couple of months, we’ll be highlighting our boldest designs, room by room, and giving you our best tips for taking the bold design path in your home!
Color outside the lines
In kitchen design, Pulp always thinks outside the box, and that includes color. White kitchens can be beautiful, but we always ask our customers to go beyond the boundaries and consider color. If you love blue, a blue kitchen will make you happy! Having the confidence to try something new is what fearlessness truly means.
Light it up
Accent lighting can make a big difference in a kitchen design. We like to choose fixtures that not only provide task lighting when you need it most, but also look stunning in the space. Why choose the same boring methods and ideas? The linear light core used in the Seattle kitchen above draws all eyes into the space while still serving as a much-needed light above the bar.
Storage solutions
If you’ve ever wondered why you should work with professional interior designers on your kitchen projects, it’s because we’ve seen (and ranked) all the challenges that can be thrown into the mix! We are experts in providing unique and ideal storage solutions to meet every customer’s needs. Pulp loves making the most of every square inch in a room, and we know how to make storage look as stylish and gorgeous as the rest of the home’s design.
Don’t be afraid of the dark
Black is definitely a great color for any room in the house, as long as you have the confidence to embrace it! In the modern Pulp designed farmhouse above, this deep dark color is the perfect counterpoint to the wood floor and white stone tile backsplash. It’s all about design in a sophisticated and bold way!
Take on texture
You can still be bold with a traditional or more neutral kitchen design! It’s the details that make the difference, including the texture! In the classic Dallas kitchen above, Pulp used metal, wood, stone and weathered moldings to craft a beautiful and different textural statement.
