Bridgerton’s drawing room and morning room were designed by set designers. While much of the show was filmed in historic homes and locations in England, Bridgerton’s living room was created specifically for the show. Production designer Will Hughes-Jones and set designer Gina Cromwell created the room’s iconic decor. Silver and grey, classic Regency furniture, damask wallpaper, lavish drapes, multiple seating areas and small decorations are all part of the room’s look.
We went on a quest to find rooms designed in this century that evoke the same Bridgerton vibe.
This modern touch gives the Bridgerton living room a luxurious feel. Designer Steven Gambrel has truly outdone himself with this Greenwich Village apartment. The long curtains, which match the wall color, give the illusion of a taller ceiling. Like the Bridgerton living room, they make the entire space look even more grand. Additionally, the shades of blue and gold throughout the room add dimension to the space. They also do a good job of making it feel more luxurious.
Designed by Alison Pickart, this room perfectly embodies the design characteristics of the Regency era. From the heavy dark woods to the curved entryway, everything in this living room screams luxury. The curved coffee table and lamps add a touch of modernity to this room. This is done without overpowering it or taking away from the Regency style designs.
This bright blue living room is a great fit for a modern Bridgerton-inspired living room. The bright blue walls, matched with the chairs and rug, help to unify the room. The red accents throughout the room help to give the room more dimension and vibrancy. The designer of this room, Sheila Bridges, does an amazing job of bringing cohesion and moderation to this room. This living room is what I imagine a modern Bridgerton family living room would look like.
This is Shonda Rhimes’ New York City apartment. The creator of hit shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Bridgerton, Shonda certainly knows how to bring her shows to life with interior design. With the help of designer Michael Smith, these interiors and decor perfectly reflect the show Bridgerton. From the floral wallpaper to the bright yellow curtains, this apartment is as close to a modern-day Bridgerton-inspired living room as you can get.
This is another great design that gives a Bridgerton inspired living room. The sofa at the end of the living room has a very elegant design. It looks a lot like the sofa that many of the Bridgerton siblings sit on when waiting for their suitors or just having a good laugh. Placing the sofa in front of the giant window panels creates the illusion of a larger room with high ceilings. On the other hand, the blue and gold ceiling designs also add an extra touch of elegance and luxury to the room without overpowering it. This subtle addition to the room is a great way to make the space look expensive.
With the new season of Bridgerton coming up, I couldn’t help but come up with inspiring ideas for room design and decor. Many of these ideas are very modern and can be easily recreated. Imagine yourself dressed up and walking into a room like the one I’ve shown above. Immerse yourself in the modern living room from Bridgerton. Which of these blue Bridgerton living rooms is your favorite?
