Welcome! I recently finished and posted my master bedroom renovation. In case you missed it, you can head over and check out all the details here. My favorite part of this room is the new fireplace wall. In fact, the entire room was inspired by this project. I saw something similar on Pinterest and knew I wanted to recreate this inline, or technically inline. Do you remember the wall from before?

I started by painting the wall and then mounted the TV to the wall using an adjustable TV stand so I could take the TV out and access the inside of the wall if I needed to without unmounting anything. I hung the TV first and then built around it.
After choosing a fireplace the same width as the TV, I started building the wall. I used 2×4 studs and made sure to mark where the heater would go. I made sure to buy a heater that was supposed to be built into the wall. The heat is blown into the room, rather than through the chimney or into the wall. I attached 2x4s using wood glue and pocket holes at all joints.
When making the wall, I also wanted to make room for the tree trunks. I knew they would need some extra support, so after I built out the space I added a few extra 2×4 vertical pieces below the log area. I forgot to take a picture, oops!
Then it’s time for drywall. My first time using drywall! Cutting and recording was a bit of work, but it wasn’t too bad. I made sure to fill the log area with drywall around the sides, but I didn’t worry about the TV area and fireplace because I knew they would hide the inside.
After all the drywall is hung, it’s time to mud. Since the rest of the walls in the room are textured, and I didn’t want to remove all the texture, I added some texture to the built-in portion so that it blends in with the rest of the room.
Then I added all the pieces and painted everything. Then just install the stove and add the logs.
Simple bed inversion (coming soon).
I hung the extension cord inside the wall so I could access the electricity a little easier. I can also pull the heater out if I need to access the actual outlet, that would take a little more work. This is a little more useful at the moment.
