I was busy building a wooden Christmas tree decor and thought, I could just add a back to one of these and turn it into a serving tray, so that’s what I did. I love him!

How I built this project
Start by cutting all of your boards according to the cutting list and planning your tree shape before assembly.
Build the tree base first using glue and nails.
Then glue the tree and secure it together.
Next, you will outline the tree on a piece of 1/4-inch plywood and cut it with a jig saw. (Check your scrap pile, or purchase a 2″ x 4″ board).
He watches!
Glue and nail the cut plywood to the back of the tree.
Complete with a food safe finish, I used butcher’s oil and stain. Before I filled it with food, I also covered the tray with parchment paper.
