Hey friends! I hope you had a great weekend. The weather here was perfect! We had a lot of fun and a little work too. Today, I’m going to share with you a brand new little box makeover. I worked on a bunch of other things this weekend, so I’ll share them later this week and next week.
Before we continue, I want to remind you that I’m running a giveaway right now! Enter and win, right here. There’s still time! Remember, you can enter daily for extra chances to win!!
Today’s project is a makeover using this beautiful Decoupage Decor Tissue Paper from ReDesign. I don’t think most people know how many beautiful designs there are. And how many things you can do with this paper! You can see some of them here.
This came out of this harvest…
There in the middle of the seat.
Cute as is but you know I’d change it! Lol
But the interior was great! I will keep it.
List of materials needed to renew tissue paper using decoupage technique
Do you prefer shopping on Etsy? I have an Etsy store too, here!
I started removing the devices.
Next, I painted the outside Victorian Lace. (A beautiful white color!)
And left the inside black.
To fix the decorative paper, I used decoupage and transfer gel.
The tissue paper was a little wrinkled, so I ran a warm iron over it to smooth it out first.
After ironing, I laid out toilet paper to mark which part of the design I wanted to use on the top of the box.
Since I wanted to use a specific area of the design, I folded tissue paper to apply the decoupage gel.
Next, I added a layer of decoupage gel on top as well.
Once completely dry, I lightly sanded the edges to separate the excess tissue paper from the box.
See how easily it comes apart that way?
I like to do little surprises inside, so I added this little floral transfer to the bottom of the inside.
Originally, I was planning on the exterior being all white, but decided to add a little pink.
I chose the rose water pink color because it is a beautiful soft pink like tissue paper.
I applied one coat of Tough Coat Topcoat in Matte over everything.
The devices have been rebooted…
…and that’s it!
What a totally different look, isn’t it?!
Nice little box now.
I just love using ReDesign’s decorative tissue paper and their transfer papers to take things up a notch or two!
They really add the perfect creative touch.
I’m so glad I decided to add the pink rose water polish to this!
And surprise!
Here’s another project I did using this tissue paper in a different style! You can check it out here > Decorative Tissue Paper Tray
Pin it to save it!
Have you tried our decorative tissue paper yet? It’s not like traditional thin tissue paper, and it’s easier to handle. You should try it if you haven’t tried it before! We have several types to choose from here. (And we’ll be launching 6 new types next week! Plus many more in the store, stay tuned!)
Have a great Wednesday!!
