We continue our product review series on Wit & Delight, where I give my in-depth thoughts on tried-and-true products that I’ve been using for months (or years) and that have changed my daily routine for the better. These reviews are intended to provide detailed information about products that may be of interest to you, so if you’re looking for a particular product, you’ll have all the information you need to make a decision about whether to buy it.
Today I’m sharing my personal review of the DRx SpectraLite™ FaceWare Pro, an LED facial mask from Dr. Dennis Gross.
The DRx SpectraLite™ FaceWare Pro is an FDA-cleared mask from Dr. Dennis Gross that uses red and blue LED light therapy. The blue light treats acne and evens skin tone and texture, while the red light smooths lines and supports natural collagen production to firm skin, treat signs of sun damage, and reduce inflammation.
What is your skin?
I have sensitive, dry skin that is starting to show fine lines. I also have dark spots on my nose and cheeks, and I often have dull, red skin. I also occasionally have mild hormonal acne. Because my skin is sensitive, I have to be careful with harsh acids and serums. Before purchasing this mask, I was recently diagnosed with early-stage rosacea. I noticed that my nose and cheeks would become very red when I drank alcohol, ate spicy foods, or stayed out in the sun for long periods of time.
Why would you want to try this LED face mask?
I purchased this mask in May 2024. I had previously tried the Solawave Wand and found that my skin benefited from the red light therapy. With the Solawave Wand, I noticed some improvement in my skin tone and texture. I noticed that my dark spots appeared to be reduced and my skin looked brighter and firmer.
I wanted to invest more in an LED mask that I could simply leave on without having to manually move it to every part of my face. Dr. Dennis Gross’ LED mask is designed to treat the issues I mentioned above, such as fine lines, dark spots, redness, and acne.
Before purchasing the Dr. Dennis Gross LED Mask, I purchased a $150 LED Mask and a $70 LED Mask through Amazon. I returned them because they didn’t charge or stay on my face well. I was also concerned about using a device sold by a third-party seller, especially when using a bright light near my eyes. Ultimately, I decided I wanted to try a product from a more reputable, well-researched brand. The Dr. Dennis Gross Mask is FDA-approved, which means it’s a professional-grade LED treatment.
What is your routine when using Dr. Dennis Gross LED Mask?
I try to use the mask every day. In fact, I use it about three days a week, because life is what I want it to be. To use it, I wash and dry my face, then place the device on my face, turn it on, and use it for a set time of three minutes.
There are three modes: red anti-aging mode, blue anti-acne mode, and red and blue light combined mode. I usually use the red light mode. After that, I apply my regular skin products.
This mask can be used morning or night. For best results, the brand recommends daily use – consistency is key! For more information, see the full list of instructions from Dr. Dennis Gross.
How effective is this LED face mask?
With regular use, I have noticed that the fine lines on my face have diminished and the redness has improved to the point where it is not noticeable anymore. I have also noticed an improvement in my hormonal acne. The dark spots on my cheeks have reduced, but my nose is still a problem and I will be consulting my dermatologist about it at my next appointment. Overall, this product has worked for me so far and I am eager to continue using it long term.
Have you noticed any problems with the device?
No, I’ve been using it regularly for four months and have had no complaints. It holds its charge for a long time and is durable. I also love the comfortable silicone lining!
Who do you think should consider purchasing a Dr. Dennis Gross LED Mask?
At $455, this LED mask is an investment—and one that I’ve found to be well worth the cost. I especially appreciate its ease of use and the convenience of using it at home.
If you are looking to invest in a device to treat acne, fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration, redness, inflammation, and skin thickening, this FDA-cleared device may be a good product to try. I recommend consulting with your dermatologist for personalized insights on whether LED light therapy is right for you.
