Why did I design this project?
We’ve tried many different calendar ideas – from paper calendars to giant desktop calendars – I’ve tried electronic calendar syncing and erasable calendars on the wall. None of them solved all the problems and were easy to use.
Yesterday, I was out shopping and saw erasable calendars on the shelf that were 14″ x 14″ square.
Then the project came to me right there in the aisle of the store. I could see it and see how it worked, and I knew exactly how to build it.
After twelve board feet of 1×6, four board feet of 1×3, and eighteen screws, I built this!
Why This Is The Best Wall Calendar System Ever
We’ve struggled for years to come up with many different calendar ideas and products. Here’s why this calendar is our best system yet:
Calendars are on a shelf, so they can be easily removed to edit and change the 3-month calendar, so you can add events and plans to the next month, and the month after that, without having to take notes, flip pages, or any other hassle. Easily move to the next month by simply removing and erasing the top calendar, moving the two bottom calendars up, and then adding the now blank calendar to the bottom, keeping all your plans and appointments. Clearly displayed on the wall for everyone to see at all times. The beautiful solid wood design adds a decorative element to your space. It’s just one thing to hang – not multiple items to hang. The narrow file fits in tight spaces, even the side of the refrigerator. The shelf is large enough to hold dry erase markers. ECO-FRIENDLY – Stop buying throwaway calendars. LONG-TERM SOLUTION – You can easily replace your square dry erase calendars if needed.
This calendar system will help us organize our time and make plans in advance.
