In the final post of our Fearless Design series, we turn our attention to the bedroom. Whether it’s a guest room or a master suite, the bedroom should be an oasis and a place to unwind. But that doesn’t mean it can’t also contain some bold details and unconventional ideas! Here are Pulp’s best tips for creating gorgeous bedrooms!
1. Play with pattern
We like to keep the bedroom palette calm and subdued, but that doesn’t mean the room can’t be bold too! Mixing styles is a great way to add some excitement to the bedroom without losing that sense of sanctuary. In the room above, Pulp used our S. Harris fabrics to create a bedroom that’s bold and far from boring.
2. Customized details
This has to be one of the most fun rooms in your home, so treat yourself! Add custom furniture and accessories you won’t find anywhere else. In the Dallas bedroom above, we designed a custom bed that features texture and headboard height to make this room both stunning and calming.
3. Install it
Even in the most neutral paintings, you can find boldness. It’s all about texture and adding dimension and detail. In the Seattle master suite above, the textural pattern can be found from ceiling to floor! The wallcovering has a great feel and the upholstered bed is comfortable and gorgeous. The art is dramatic and eye-catching, but still within the muted color range. So remember, you can’t be afraid of fabrics and surfaces!
4. Shine to new heights
Don’t be afraid to add a little magic to your basic bedroom! In the Laredo home above, we took things to new heights with a long metal canopy bed that makes a bold statement. The open design keeps it from taking over the room, and the metal details we used throughout tie the whole design together.
