How to fix the damage of furniture and drawing.
I recently drew our dining room buffet and I had a lot of problems during the operation. I share how they fixed each of them along the way and ended up with a great result!
I know best now … I learned not to say to myself, “Wow! This project is going well!” – Because something happens inevitably after I say that.
Certainly I can’t think about it, and do not say it loudly.
I also know that I should never tell myself that the DIY project will not take long. I did it a million times … this will be easy! This will not take long at all! I did this 800 million times, what could happen?
I know these things, however this is what I did.

A friend of mine had a beautiful home store, and I found it there for about seven years. I was in love with her, especially reed doors.
It fits beautifully with the “gem” of the farm style that I was going through throughout our home. It is also a truly useful piece – I store a lot of dishes inside.

I was worried that I wouldn’t like the troubled side plate on the lighter wall, but I loved it completely!
But during the past few months, I have been feeling annoying that this spot needs some contrast. The dining table has a light wooden table as well, and the room only needs something.
Over the years, a home decor style turned into a more traditional appearance, and this piece was feeling very serious – but I still love the bones and I know that I can update it in one way or another.
This is where “this will be easy and fast!” The part comes. I decided to draw it with a dark paint color that would give him more presence.
I was determined to use the paint that we have in our hood-called the Sherwin-Williams color and used it to paint my husband’s office last year.
The piece is really essential, there is no detailed trim or anything, and the door handles are compact so there were not many devices to take off.
I thought I could draw everything in two hours (not including dehydration time). I was very confident that I started this project later in the evening, believing that I can do the final touch the next morning.
Do you feel climax?
I shared an easy way to paint furniture (with no preliminary) last year – but this time I did not use normal fat spray because I thought there was no preventive end on wood. (Liquids sometimes smoke them easily.)
It would return to bite me at the back.
I can say after the first coat has dried up that something was used on the surface. I am always the sand between the coats of the paint to get the completion of the super smooth:

I noticed that it was launching more, especially for such a light sanding. This problem was the number one, and more than that.
I ended up taking the doors to draw, and the cane fronts proved to be more difficult to paint more than I thought. Even with a small thin cylinder and a coating brush, I couldn’t reach small cracks.

I really like those who suffer from drawing drawing, but they also worked well for reeds because I can really deal with it for better coverage.
My plan all the time was not to draw the interior of the doors or interior. But when the doors were returned again, the wood was lighter on the doors (because it could see through the reed) make everything incomplete.
So the entire process also passed from the inside as well:

While I was working, I noticed all kinds of small issues that I have never noticed on this furniture before.
Both the left side doors were not evenly hanging, so I tried to add slightly hinges. This helped on one side, but not the other:

I learned very quickly that this piece was made to look slightly and intentionally dilapidated. Or maybe it was just a craftsman, who knows.
Drawing the interior of the doors made everything look much better, but I was upset with the lighter wood I was able to see around the edges:

So I recorded the interior of the painter’s tape and disabled a couple until the color was smooth in the front.
As you can see, the part in which the cane meets meets with the door tires was also terrible.
So on the third day of this project, I went to the hardware store and grabbed some slim pieces, drawing it and cutting it into the size with useful miter scissors. I have listed them around the reed to give it a more complete look:

On the fourth day, I realized that it would look better with some dam and fill around the pieces as well:

I recommend using a colored dam that is darker when painting in a deep color.
Look at what better range of the door on the left appears with the pieces!:

I haven’t noticed all these small issues before! Drawing definitely showed all areas of problems.
Do you remember my anxiety about the painful paint? I used to finish the gloss almost in the same color (we had both eggshells) for additional coats. Just almost glossy carries better in general.
I also assigned coats from this survey on polyurethane on the entire side plate after painting to give it more protection against wear. Usually I do not use Poly in my furniture projects (I find that the semi -glossy paint is well carried on its own after treatment).

While adding, I caught an orange rub and touch the metal hinges as well:

It took four days and endless hours, but the final result was worth it! I am delighted in a rich deep color and I am very happy because I made this change:

It is just great !! We love it.
Oh, the bonus problem I faced – the dark color made it much easier to see what is inside. I allowed me the original end to raise things inside, but it is no longer.
So I finished withdrawing everything:

He told you this carries a lot of things!
It turns out that it is a good thing, because we definitely do not need everything. I kept about half and some elements were transferred to other sites in the kitchen.
Now even the interior looks beautiful!:

I really love lighter wood in the interior – it gives it some dimension.
The color is just beautiful! Very rich and looks great against lighter walls:

This deep Burgundy also pulls some colors from the carpet as well.
In general, this project, which I thought would take a few hours, ended a few hours a day for four days. I thought it would never end.
The contrast adds a lot of warmth and personality to this room, and I am pleased with it:

We hope this will help if you encounter the same problems while giving furniture a shift. Don’t give up!! Haha!
