When it walked for the first time through the doors of the furniture bank in 2008 as a new mother from a new maternity leave, I was looking for more than just a job – I was looking for the purpose. I will never forget that first interview in the old cold warehouse. Despite the amazing space, there was an undeniable warmth in the people and the mission that directed me immediately. What started as the center of the communication center will become a 16 -year trip that would not only constitute my career, but the story of my entire family.
One of my dear memories is to bring my two -year -old daughter Megan to the Madison Avenue warehouse to meet the team. The office was cold, the space was narrow, but there was a magic thing around those moments. Now, Megan is watching volunteering at the Furniture Bank while continuing her studies at the University of Toronto, I I struck how Our They slept together along with this wonderful organization. Its development is from a young child who plays in our warehouse to an emotional volunteer It is clear How can the depth of our work to form the values of the next generation and understand the community service.
