In the heart of Chelsea in New York City, the relatively modest gray façade hides a overwhelming world of sound. House of Sound coordinates the listening experience that is the next level, each subsequent floor of the building reveals a more complex sound system than another. Both the six floors include these systems of Mcintosh Labs and Sonus Faber in beautiful well -known spaces – pure treatment for ear and eyes. I had the opportunity to visit House of Sound to show a full anonymous film, a self -starring movie starring Timothe Chaalamet in the role of Bob Dylan, directed by James Mangold. TOD Maitland, the film’s sound designer, presented an insight into the process behind the project before the movie, as she shared a look behind the scenes on what it takes to create a convincing and exciting degree.
Behind the door of the lobby, the bright white field of the entrance is giving the way to the darkness of the theater. Huge charcoal halls, easily large enough for four, turn on the expected room, and the dim lights that throw soft shades on the rug covered. The sound panels line the dark walls, ensuring that the result is heard exactly as intended. The sound is an integral part of the construction of the world, and comes from several different methods, singing, microphones, and tools, and the sound surrounding the experience should have been arranged along with the soundtrack to create a firm movie.
Maitland participated in difficulties and also takes advantage of the presence of Chalamite, which is singing and most of its guitar. This is very unusual for an industry that revolves around art, as well as about the end result. Microfones were hidden in his hair, guitar, and the theater was surrounded to be mastered in the end in the end result. This added an incredible level of insight to experience watching the movie, and to understand the complications of how to immerse the scenes. The sound is incredibly strong. There is no doubt that the vast Dylan catalog has changed popular music, and it can be said that it is the scope of music in general. Anyone was at a very good concert, and perhaps one of it, knows this is true.
On the next floor, looking at the left left, the wonderful kitchen extends to the back of the building. The kitchen opens in a two -storey chandelier, with an elegant courtyard outside. This experiment is pure, huge metal heights of ice beverages, and beads from condensation extend to the dual glossy granite countertop, which creates an illusion of a huge length. The pizza, Shake Shack, any kind of drinks to choose from-a Night in nature in New York, by chance, preferred me. On the right of the landing, the Mcintosh system here features a drop without a loss, and there is no single point in the room is the beautiful place to hear all the details. Ambulance, the size and color does not change, providing an incredibly immersive audio experience. This was the fun of an experiment, the Donna Summer bombing system while the sweat did not break, it is cold in the size of the quarter.
This is the magic of House of Sound: It is a space for people who really appreciate music for gathering, listen to some of the best and most complicated systems at work. All this, along with real and internal hospitality, gives all the warmth of the house, more elegant. With great interest in maintaining the space fun and high, the House of Sound team is completely done – an oasis of sound and vision all hidden smartly from the hustle and bustle of the city.
It provides the next level completely with a dedicated Mcintosh system, and provides a sarcastic vision of blue and brown tanks, old cabinets and chestnut leather meet with furnishings and white walls in Robin. Large windows with large length and perspective provide the fungi of the equipment that overlooks the equipment.
Finally, we go out to the surface for a little fresh air. Chelsea landmarks leak on the horizon, with beautiful views in the city center on all sides. Talking and luxurious, but feeling at home, this is exactly where you want to cancel pressure after some intense listening.
