Are you looking for the perfect gift idea for Father’s Day, wedding or anniversary? Here’s how to turn a photo into a watercolor painting with one click.
I was shopping for art for my walls.
And then I remembered something amazing.
Instead of buying artists, paintings, murals and paying a lot of money for art? What if I shopped myself instead?
I remembered that I have an app on my phone that I installed millions of years ago that turns any photo into a watercolor painting.
I agree?
It’s literally amazing.
And then my mind started wandering full of wonderful ideas.
Wouldn’t this be the perfect Father’s Day gift?
Or a wedding gift?
Or an anniversary gift?
Or just a cool and amazing general gift?
Because this picture of the blue and white vase with pink flowers?
Now with just one click of my finger? It looks like this.
seriously?
right?
Doesn’t it look like an artist painted it?
And now you can have a little watercolor artist living in your pocket….
…on your phone.
How to convert any photo into watercolor
You can turn any photo into a watercolor painting in four easy steps using an app called
…water immersion.
When I got it, it was free, but when I went and looked for it it’s now $3.99. This post is not sponsored or anything like that. I just use it and love it. It works with iPhone or iPad and is priced around $3.99 through the App Store.
The cost of two tubes of lipstick at the store is in dollars.
And it’s worth it.
If you don’t have an iPhone, there appears to be a desktop version. You can see more about that here.
I also found their contact form if you want to contact them with any questions about it.
You download the application to your device.
Then click on the camera button and upload the photo.
After about 30 seconds it looked like this.
You can choose different styles of watercolor.
This is the picture in nature.
This is a lively setting.
This is the same image in the dark setting.
There are also different settings you can use to create more of a pencil drawing or get a more impressionistic style.
This is the same image in the “It’s Tech” setting.
This is the same image in the simplified version.
Here is the facade of the house in the simplified version.
Wouldn’t this be the perfect wedding gift photo?
Or an anniversary gift?
I was having so much fun I couldn’t stop.
How about this piece of framed art at home?
Or a photo in the dining room in the dining room.
You can create many different image variations in the app.
You can try each image in different versions.
I’ve found that some images look better in some versions and other images look better in other versions.
Here is the dining room in the simplified version.
And look how well it works with photos of people.
This is Whitney and Buddy in the simplified version.
Wouldn’t this be perfect for Father’s Day?
I’ve tried many “people” photos and I think it works better with photos close to people rather than far away.
Once your photo is exactly how you want it….just click the heart to share the photo or email it to yourself.
Then you can print it on archival paper or cardstock and frame it.
The perfect gift is just one click away.
Have you ever tried this before? Or do you have other options for converting photos to watercolor?
My mind is ready. 🙂
