We’re the first to admit that we’re partial to a palette of pinks and terracotta—did you see our kitchen renovation at TDF?—but we think these colors work especially well in a bathroom.
Pale and deep pinks are beautiful neutrals to ground a space, and provide an undeniable warmth to any interior decor.
In the bathroom, this color can easily come in the form of tiles. We love Tiento’s Namib tile in Jasper for the floor and Amuri Brick tile in Cotto for the wall. Pair them with Fibonacci’s Carmelita tile—a beautiful terrazzo tile featuring shades of biscuit, ginger, and caramel—for the top half of the wall for a rich, soothing touch.
The key to getting this look is to balance soft colors with bolder dark colors—and lots of texture (which is essential for harmonious spaces).
Add touches of dark colors, such as burgundy or deep red, in larger items like Reece’s Kado Era Vanity Table in Matte Marble Red, or CDK’s Bellini Marble Table Top.
You can also echo these colors in design details, as we did above with Anna Parson’s ceramic sculpture from Pepite, Aileen Corbett’s glazed pottery, and Irene Grishin-Selzer’s artwork, both from Brunswick Street Gallery.
Instead of white, you could also consider a warm neutral sink, like the Clay 350 Ceramic Above Counter Round Basin in Coast, to add to the earthy palette. Similar choices should be made for lighting and furniture—we chose the Pinch Light and Echo Chair from the New Volumes collection in Clay.
Because this palette of pinks, terracotta, and burgundy is warm, we recommend choosing faucet fixtures with a bronze or gold finish. Because this style is playful and soft, pieces with rounded edges and curves work especially well, like the Vivid Slimline Floor Mounted Bath Mixer with Hand Shower in Polished Gold from Phoenix; the Duet Basin Sink Hob Mixer Set High from Sussex Taps; and the ISSY Halo Rounded Triple Mirror from Reece.
Of course, what bathroom would be complete without a Baina towel? In keeping with the color palette, we opted for the Paloma Sun & Ecru Roman Pool Towel.
