Choose appropriate materials
When creating a realistic paper plush, choosing the right paper is crucial. Choose tissue paper in shades that closely resemble the vibrant colors of real marigold flowers, which will enhance the vibrant look of your handmade flowers.
By carefully considering the color palette and staying true to the natural shades of marigold flowers, you can ensure that your tissue paper creations look stunningly realistic.
Supplies you will need
Create realistic tissue paper flowers
To create realistic marigold flowers, start by cutting 4 rectangles in tissue paper. For reference, the dimensions of the rectangle I used are 10 x 25 cm (4 x 10 inches). You can adjust the scale to make smaller or larger flowers. Place the four paper rectangles on top of each other. Starting at one of the short edges, make a 1cm (81/2in) fold. Continue folding the paper to form an accordion. Get a pipe cleaner and wrap its end around the middle of the accordion sheet. Using scissors, round the ends accordion to create a petal shape. Gently pull each layer of tissue paper to give the plush its shape. Take the cap and put some drops of yellow paint in it. Smoothly dip the tip of the petals into the paint to give the plush a realistic look. Let the flower dry.
Make as many flowers as you want. Feel free to experiment with a variety of sizes to create an amazingly realistic bouquet of plush.
