Christmas cards…you don’t want to throw them away but you also don’t feel comfortable tossing them in a box to collect dust for the next decade. Am I right? Come along as I show you how I turned this adorable little Christmas card into a fun piece of decor for my home!

First, I cut out the back of my birthday card – using my favorite scissors, of course!
Next, I cut out the phrase “Wishing You a Very Happy Birthday” from my card so it could be used for everyday decor! Feel free to leave this part out if you want to use it as a birthday party, holiday, etc. decor! I also decided to cut out the white sides of the card so it would be symmetrical.
Here she is now looking…now to choose scrapbook paper for my frame!
I chose green striped paper from my workshop scrapbook paper!
I’m keeping the rug inside a picture frame, so all I need to do is cut the scrapbook paper small enough to fit in the frame…it doesn’t have to be perfect!
As I mentioned above, I will be keeping a white 4×7 rug inside my picture frame. If you don’t have a rug, you can buy a set on Amazon here!
I placed the Christmas card first, then the scrapbook paper directly behind it. I didn’t use any kind of adhesive, everything stayed in place well after I sealed the back of the frame well. However, you may want to add glue dots or tape to the card and/or scrapbook paper.
Such a fun and colorful little piece of decor! This is probably one of the easiest crafts I’ve done on the blog!
Who would have thought this was a birthday card? Not to mention it fits perfectly in this hot pink frame!
With only 4 supplies and $4, you can’t beat it!!! I love it so much!
