The large wall in the studio now has another colorful addition. Yesterday, I hung up this large, colorful wall calendar, and it looks like this thing was designed specifically to match my wallpaper! It’s perfect for my studio! It’s so big and so high that I’d need a step stool to use some of it, but I don’t even care. Those big rectangles of happy colors make it worth having this beautiful calendar on my wall.
I purchased this huge wall calendar from Kaleidscope Living a while ago, and I’ve been dying to hang it on my wall for weeks. But I need to mount my larger prints, and frame them first so I can plan out the rest of the wall.
But I went ahead and got the months ready to hang by mounting them on a foam baseboard and then cutting them to size.
I then used 3M double sided foam squares on the back of each month to hang them on the wall.
I hung it, just as I would hang any gallery wall, using my bubble level, a long straight edge, and a piece of scrap wood as a spacer. I absolutely love how these look hanging on my wall!
With the two large items on the wall, I could see how much space there was in the middle for the TV. I didn’t have enough space for a 55-inch TV as I originally planned, so I had to use a much smaller 43-inch TV. I used the Hangman TV mount (affiliate link), which is my favorite mounting system ever for a TV. I’ve been using Hangman products for over a decade, so when I saw that they make TV stands as well, this is what I chose to hang all three TVs in our home.
The Hangman TV stand is a very simple French system, and it took about five minutes to hang the TV. I like that once the TV is hung, you can make slight adjustments, by moving the TV left or right, to put it exactly where you want it.
I plan to make a frame for this TV, but this frame will be much simpler in design than the one I made for the TV in the breakfast room. I don’t like being able to see behind a wall mounted TV, and the frame style I make will take care of that.
So this is what the entire wall looks like so far. I love how the calendar and framed print happen to be the same height. It feels like it was meant to be!
Under the TV, I’m going to build three very simple, shallow shelves. I have an idea of what I want to store on it, but I’ll keep that to myself for now. 😉
So the final piece of this puzzle is what I’m going to put above the TV. I still haven’t quite figured it out yet. I would love to add something either circular or free-form, but I can’t think of what it would be other than a really big clock. I love clocks, and yet I don’t have one in this room, so this might be the perfect place for one.
Of course, I can also add two more shelves above the TV. But whatever the above, the TV should only be decorative. These shelves would not be practical for storing items/products that I need to access regularly because they are too high for me to reach easily.
This is the progress so far, and I’m absolutely impressed with how this wall turned out! They are colourful, bright and so much fun! It’s as if it was customized specifically for me. 😃
