Hello friends! I’m so excited to share our newest collection with you today – it’s Justina
Working with Rugable on this collaboration has been absolutely dreamy. I’ve always believed that color is the ultimate mood booster, and it’s something I’m passionate about infusing into every aspect of my life. With this collection, I wanted to bring the same joy to your homes. Not only do these rugs look vibrant, but the washable aspect makes them incredibly practical, especially with busy beds. It’s hard to choose a favorite color between Eartha, which brings so much happiness to my living room every day, and the bold hot pink of Magdalena in my kitchen – I finally achieved my dream of having a cute pink rug!
I love seeing Ella’s runner in my bedroom
Inspiration behind the designs:
As with most of my designs, I designed the collection *for me*. I leaned into my experiences and tastes, sometimes imagining different versions of myself at different stages of my life. If you share my passion for vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and nature-inspired designs, then I believe and hope this collection will resonate with you too! Each piece in this collection tells its own story – Sonia and Billy, originating from my paintings. Josephine and Eartha, based on my illustration work, were influenced by my child, Ida’s love of wild cats. Featuring floral motifs with an eclectic touch, Alice and Georgia finds its roots in ancient Egyptian art, infused with a contemporary, shifting atmosphere. Nature is the inspiration for many of my designs, whether expressed literally as seen in Tarsila’s palm fronds or abstractly, as in Hilma’s crystal-like interpretation. Some pieces are inspired by my travels to places like New Mexico and Morocco. Sometimes, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly where the inspiration comes from – and sometimes the designs just flow out of me! It’s been so much fun working with the amazing creative team at Ruggable to translate my vision and art into “crossable and washable” artwork! Throughout the collection, there are subtle references to the magic of Mother Nature – and I believe this lends each piece its indescribable charm. Also, each piece of rug is named after artists I’ve been inspired by throughout my life – can you tell which artists inspired each design?
Sonya comes in two colors: Terra & Sage (above) and Sand & Ocean
Josephine at Sunrise – Yes…we have outdoor rugs in this collection!
I can’t wait to see these rugs in your homes! I hope they bring as much joy to you and your families as they did to me while designing them!
