Happy Sunday everyone! Work has started on the floral mural at the Art Bar with artist Rachel Jackson and it already looks absolutely gorgeous. You might be able to catch a glimpse of Rachel and Em’s Instagram stories if you’re interested 🙂 Then we had a very important birthday this week – our sweet Gretchen turned 30!! We had a little virtual celebration (including the compliments jar) and it was soooo awesome. So please wish our girl a happy birthday and let’s head over to these links 🙂
This week’s home tour is one that Caitlin sent to the team on Slack with a message saying, “I’m obsessed with this house? Love the window decor in the dining room.” We all loved it so much we had to share it. It’s a really cool house.
From Emily: These 70s-style long-sleeve shirts are so cool that I bought one in every color for fall. They’re a bit thicker than the summer shirts, but still easy to layer over each other and have plenty of flair for something casual.
From Kaitlyn: I recently discovered a nonpartisan, nonprofit called Vote Like a Mother , and let me tell you: Moms get things done. If you’re looking for a simple, easy-to-understand educational resource, this is it. (For example: Enter your address to get a full breakdown of all the major elections you’re eligible to vote in—including federal, state, and some local races. The research is all there—they’ve compiled the policies of every candidate relevant to you, backed up by voter registration tools, key dates for your specific election, and information about your current representation.) As their site puts it: “We don’t tell you who to vote for, but we do insist that you learn about the candidates and issues, and show up to your polling place. We know that moms are among the most time-poor Americans, so we’ve worked hard to create a website to make it easy for you to learn about the candidates, ballot measures, and issues that matter to you.” I’m not a mom, but I know many of you are—and I hope this resource is helpful to you. (Note: I thought this page, which clearly details each presidential candidate’s plans for child care, maternal health, and paid family and medical leave, was great. Just the facts, no distortions. I learned a lot!)
From Jess: I decided to try Peter Thomas Roth’s Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Eye Gel after running out of the ones I had, and I’m really into it. It feels so good to wear, and while I can’t personally attest to it not causing milia (those little white bumps) yet, I’ve been told it won’t. So far, I’m really into it!
We can’t stop applauding these two adorable kids’ collections from Crate&Kids’ Jeremiah Brent and West Elm Kids’ Eva Chen. Even if you don’t have kids or they’re adults, you still have to check out the thought and creativity that went into these pieces. Below are a handful of products from each collection that we loved but each piece is truly just that good. Enjoy!

From Arlene: This isn’t so much a recommendation as it is a “hey, I’m so excited about this book!” I just checked out this new book called “Magic: Awakening Wonder in an Age of Anxiety” by Katherine May (reminder to use your local bookstore instead of always buying every new book!) I’ve just finished the first few chapters and have already started to whittle everything down. For anyone who is feeling overwhelmed, disillusioned, and frankly anxious after these past few turbulent years, I think I’d recommend it (only because I haven’t finished it yet, but so far, so good). It’s…magical.
From: Gretchen: Em and I went over to our photographer Caitlin Green’s house the other day for an exciting new design project… coming soon! When she opened the door and she was wearing a sweatshirt I had just been eyeing online, I exclaimed, “Is this the new Free People sweatshirt?” She smiled devilishly as she replied, “No!” She then proceeded to show me that it was actually a very good knockoff from Amazon—for a fraction of the price! Even though I haven’t seen the FP version in person, the quality of this replica sweatshirt still looks pretty great. The sag in the arms is just right. The material is soft and moves the way I want my sweatshirts to move. Plus, it comes in so many great colors! I bought it right away when I got home—the one with the rusty brown stripes and blue detailing—and sized up a lot to an XXL for a more voluminous look. Caitlin is pretty petite and ordered a large for the same reason, but if you like a shorter fit, I think ordering the true size will still work. The arms are very wide and hang just as I hoped! My only problem now is deciding which other color to buy…
From Mallory: My dear friend is expecting a new baby!! So when it came time to buy a gift, I found these cute lollipops in her gift registry from a wonderful store called Spearmint Love, and after searching their website, I couldn’t help but want to get her this floral bodysuit. If you have a baby, are expecting a baby, or know someone who does any of these things, check them out!
Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow!
