It’s been another year, a whirlwind of projects and parenting, resulting in intense gratitude to be here, with you, my team and my family doing this version of life. It’s not perfect, but nothing is perfect, and I’m surrounded by amazing people (they say the quality of your life is the quality of your relationships) and I’m so appreciative that I’m still able to be here, 15 years after this blog’s first birthday (January), 2010 – Fifteen years!!!). This year, 2024, has been full of appropriately moderate challenges (i.e. lessons) and new opportunities to navigate. We have a lot of fun things planned for 2025, and every time I think “Has the Internet tired of me yet?” I look at my calendar and see it’s booked, which I’m so grateful for. I can see the next generation of content creators coming, and they are doing great work in a completely different way than our first generation. It’s honestly exciting to be a part of.
The beloved EHD crew will be taking two weeks off – a much needed break after a very busy and enjoyable Q4 period. But we have plenty of posts already prepared and planned ( Fun Year in Review / Best Posts ) for those of you who want to keep following along and want to take trips with me down memory lane.
As for us, well, I’ll be hosting Christmas Eve with my family and Brian’s parents, then presents and Mufasa on Christmas Day. Then my family travels to Colorado for a snow/ski vacation (aka “crashing and crying” for me if you’ve seen my recent Instagram stories) for a few days. Telluride recommendations are welcome. And then, since the break is too long, I can come back, after Christmas, and organize hell out of my house while listening to all the inspiring self-improvement podcasts. The kids promised they would help me organize and update their scrapbooks (you can take me out of the Mormon church but you can’t take the scrapbooking enthusiasm out of my heart). Maybe we can finally process the wall of memory images as we walk up our stairs together. Or maybe I read a bunch of romance novels and watch Lindsey Lohan (2.0) holiday movies on repeat 🙂
Thank you for always being here. I know that stopping by, reading, commenting, etc. is an investment of your time. I also know that the blog has changed a lot in these 15 years, so thank you so much for being here. My amazing EHD team (expanding in January!!!) and I’m so grateful for you. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Holidays. xx
