This is a forgiving costume to put together and you can put a twist on your own Cruella Deville costume depending on what you have in your closet or what you can find at a thrift store. She’s a classy villain with a distinctive look.

We have an annual neighborhood Halloween party that we look forward to every year. If you missed it, last year I made scary scarecrow masks for my husband and I.
This year, I wanted to put together something that was less messy than last year’s DIY mask and fit the theme of this year’s Halloween party. When a friend gave me a full-length black fur coat, I knew I had to use it for my Cruella Deville costume. I also have several other faux furs from Zara and Free People in my closet that I could have used. There are many different versions of Cruella, with the last film starring Emma Stone wearing all black. Emma Stone’s Cruella wardrobe was so cool! I think if you have a good black and white wig and some red, black and white accessories, everyone will know what you are meant to be. So enjoy it.
Used clothing and accessories
The color scheme for Cruella’s classic costume is always black and white, with some red and a little green.
I have purchased more than one wig and the one I used fits me the best. I have a large head and not all of them fit.
Long cigarette holder Black and white Cruella wig and wig cap (I used this wig but also bought this wig and this wig that didn’t fit my head but was high quality) Long red satin gloves (short gloves work too) I had Skirt, corset, necklace (any elegant black outfit will do), red lipstick, red heels (black works great too, I used my black thigh-high boots because that’s what I had and I wanted to stay warm, plus my boots were no longer able to Many carry heels anymore) Big fake diamond rings over red gloves Any fur coat or faux fur coat in black, black and white or solid white (or even a red fur coat like Glenn Close’s but it’s harder to find) More ideas on what you can Use it for: Green eye shadow (I wore sunglasses instead), any black and white clothing you may have, a walking stick/cane, a pearl necklace, large fancy earrings or other oversized jewelry
If you are making this outfit for a couple or even a family event, my husband had this Dalmatian sweater set which is very affordable. This could be very cute if you dress your kids up as Dalmatians. Thanks to my husband for being a good sport!
Makeup of Cruella Deville (or Cruella De Vil).
You can start with light makeup to get Cruella’s skin tone but I didn’t want to buy a bottle of makeup that I wouldn’t use again. If you feel like that’s it, go for it.
Then I used a lot of green eye shadow that I had left over from my daughter’s makeup fantasy. I used standard black eyeliner and mascara. False eyelashes would look great with this outfit too. I had long nails and couldn’t grip them, so I gave up those too. Sometimes it is very difficult to wear them.
It was a $10 red lipstick from CVS because I didn’t have any on hand but bold red lips are a must for this outfit.
Also add black to your eyebrows to make them stand out more.
Okay, so this picture below doesn’t exactly fit a Cruella costume but I couldn’t help myself. Willie was very kind and accommodating. Who needs a Dalmatian when you can have a tuxedo cat?
For my version of Cruella, I ended up not wearing green eyeshadow because I had a reaction to green eye makeup and didn’t feel like buying more. I like the look of sunglasses instead too. So, if you want to wear green eyeshadow, I hope you find the right color for you.
I always have trouble taking photos myself.
DIY Cruella Devil Costume
You can’t really see in the pictures what I was wearing under the outfit. I took off my fur coat several times while inside and couldn’t find pictures. But this proves my point that you can literally wear any black thing (or red dress) you can find in your own closet.
My black pencil skirt, corset, and thigh-high boots are all very old and before I had kids. You can even wear black leggings and a fancy top. Black or red boots work great. A thrift store is a good place to start if you can’t find something in your own closet. Or even ask a friend to borrow something.
If you can’t find a fur coat to wear, this Dalmatian shawl is very affordable and will look great.
chos,
