Here’s something that you don’t need me to tell you about it, but I tell you anyway: You can choose whether you want to draw your roof or not! However, almost daily, he was asked, “Why does this ceiling not paint the color of the walls?” If you never try to draw a roof and think about it, I developed a formula when I personally draw a color and when I keep it white. It took some experience and error, so I thought I would share it with you! Again, this is my personal formula in this specific home, and you will do what you want!

When to draw the bishop in a color
There is an attractive thing without a doubt about a perfect color room. It is just the overwhelming experience that I love very much. However, in some of the rooms that tried to draw the ceiling, it did not succeed … so, I dive into reasons I think it is working sometimes and sometimes it does not work.
So, here is one element in my form: if the ceiling has architectural details on it (as in an acceptable, compartment or cut), I am more inclined to draw the ceiling. Now, of course I do not follow this or any other “base” 100 % of the time, because this is very rigid and predictable. But it usually works for me!
For our initial bedroom, I wanted to feel the place as a sophisticated retreat. We added this beautiful safe to the ceiling and some detailed works. So when I chose this rich color and chocolate that I added to the walls, it was logical to extend it to the pieces and ceilings. The entire appearance is blessed, as it makes the room feel less wound, more wrapped and romantic – just what the bedroom should feel. We have 10 ‘roofs in our bedroom and vertical height to spare it.

We also painted the ceiling covered with panels in the Faye Princess Room in our modern home, which follows my double formulas. A dubbed roof is drawn with a trimming work on it.

Since our living room contains this severe ceiling, we also carried the color of the var and the beautiful blue ball. To you before and after we drew the furniture and added it to the room:

What a difference, right? Throughout the day, in different lighting, this room feels changes. This paint color bends, creating a truly alive color breathing that makes the room feel more sophisticated.
When we added the plate to the reward room, I knew that we would carry the blue Farrow & Ball Stanskey on the ceiling. This creates incredibly comfortable effect. My favorite room was at home for a while! Here is the shift

Drawing a ceiling has angles in the same color as the walls that makes the corners feel more intentional, which I love.
There is one room that is an exception from “Do not paint flat ceilings”: powder bath – it contains black trim and a black ceiling. I wanted to do this to add a modern feeling. But it is a very small room. So I add that to my form. The smaller the room, the more I tend to draw the roof in color. The area on the ceiling is much smaller, so there is no risk of overcoming color and the returns can be very satisfactory! This is particularly true in a small room with a background trim.

When do you keep the white ceilings?
I have a lot of white ceilings in my house, and I am already happy with that. And another part of my form? When I want the wall color to be more wound and stand out, I will keep the white ceiling.

Mudroom is an ideal example. The rich Burgundy Burgundy is emphasized and strong action against a light ceiling. I want this color to be rich and to emerge as much as possible – to interview it with light? He does so. There is fragile in clean lines. Since the red paint (red preference by Farrow and Ball) was the color of the cabinet, it was not logical to carry it to the ceiling in my opinion. This is the color of the cabinets! Not the color of the wall! And I love how the warm white ceiling allows the wardrobe shine.
The study is another example when I tried to draw the roof and … I had to return. We passed some of the repetitions (complete Sob story here!). But there was a moment when the light blue roof of cotton and panels was.

It was not the right thing in the end. So we updated the pieces to this bright green color and allowed the ceiling room to breathe. This also works in the pieces of cutting and mill, in the area of wallpaper, but a flat roof without trim, will not, as well,,

When we worked to turn the Teen’s Teen’s Teen, I wanted to have a display blocker with the opposite of blue attention. We started with pink walls and a white roof:

I thought it would be more beautiful with a coated ceiling. But when I drew the ceiling in the same color that was the cut? Well, the room started to feel blue …

I didn’t want the contradictory color 50 % of the color of the room! So returning to the white was! Also, the white chandelier has finished melting completely in this white ceiling. The presence of a white ceiling here, follows all my rules, and allows Merlot walls to be the primary color of her room and let the blue color is the smaller contrast-nitty color. Here where we ended up:

One space I have not yet followed my own format, and is it bothering me? The dining room. The ceiling is domed, it’s white, and it is clips! I must draw this ceiling. There are a lot of Qatari lines that I do not like. So I want to reduce this by drawing each color. I also thought about going to a shadow darker on the cutting here-which would be a suitable time to do this.

When I keep my white roof, I tend to use the Sherwin Williams White flour at the end of eggshell. This is the white that I use all over my home. I usually prefer eggs and beige with tones on the warm and sometimes green side – it only fits with the other colors I have around the house.
I noticed that many designers who admire the roofs are white. They will draw the crown the same colors as the pieces. In any case, wrong!
This is the best thing in the paint. It is for you to play with it, you can risk or even make “errors” and restore the ceilings to cheaper than most other homes renewal projects!
