Last weekend, Joe and I took the kids to San Francisco to visit my sister and her partner. They have lived there for over five years and we hadn’t made the trip yet! It was a really special experience and we got to see some of the sights together.
Packing for a long weekend trip like this—to a city with three different climates on a given day—can be a challenge. When I asked my sister what I should pack on my San Francisco packing list, she said I pack several layers—which means different things for all of us.
Sometimes I like to pack my clothes for specific occasions. In such a case, when the schedule is as variable as the weather, I find it best to pack my clothes in a solid color palette. That way, I can mix and match pieces according to my mood while I’m there. My favorite colors have been neutrals like black, white, and navy, plus a few pops of red.
Here’s my San Francisco packing list that helped me make the most of our “Fogust” trip.
