Wood is a natural material but with the use of chemicals it becomes dangerous. The main reason for applying chemicals is to make it look shiny and glossy.
Now I can explain a little.
We divide it into two parts, the first is the production process, i.e. the production of furniture from wood, and the second is the polishing process, which we can also call the finishing part.
1) So we start with the first step of the production part:-
Production processes require chemicals, but that’s okay. This can be modified by living organisms. It begins with treating the wood, which is done using methyl bromide, which saves the wood from the carver. Then glue is used to install the joint and connect the boards to make them according to size, so that the production of the raw pieces is complete.
2) Finishing process:-
This process begins with sanding. Sanding is done using sandpaper, which is made of paper and glass. Sandpaper is used with different grits, starting from 60 to 80, 120, 220, and 300. Sometimes it goes to 600 or 1000 grit.
After you’re done sanding, it’s time to use Stain, which is a mixture of pigments and thinner. The three basic components of the thinner are turpentine (distilled from pine trees), acetone (nail polish remover), and toluene (distilled from crude oil).
After it is time for dyeing, the sealer fills in the wood grain, which is done using the sealer. There are many types of sanding sealer available on the market, such as NC sealer, melamine sealer, PU sealer, water-based sealer, etc. Some companies manufacture sealers with lead mixed in, and some make them without lead. The amount to use depends on the finish, the higher the finish required the more sealant to apply. Sealer can be applied by hand or with a spray gun. According to our experience, it is recommended to use a spray gun in a spray booth to obtain a better finish and reduce health problems for workers.
After it is time to use the sealer to make the final quote that has the maximum impact on the environment and living organisms, the final quote can be made by painting (the finish looks good), melamine (a beautiful finish is achieved), and polyurethane (a layer of it is achieved like Lamination on wood). The topping material contains a high amount of toxic chemicals (but the dosage used is recommended by our government to minimize side effects). Pictured below with honey colored melamine finish.
Above all, I hope you have an idea about the finishing process, so according to our recommendation, it is better to use only finishing (96% organic furniture production can be achieved), and there are many advantages, among which are: – It uses very less chemicals, i.e. 3 to 4% compared to the entire final product. You can easily refinish it with wax (which has very low side effects).
So your next question is just what are the spots, can they have different shades? Organic furniture production process
Yes, it has a different shade, and this process is completed in the dyeing stage. One just has to rub the hand after coloring. In this finish, we can feel the natural wood, where 100 percent wood grain is visible with very less chemicals used. Below I have added sample stains just for your reference, I hope this information helps you choose organic furniture for your home If more details are needed, please email us at:- [email protected] Or WhatsApp on +91 8640040029
Side effects of chemicals used in furniture production include burning eyes, lungs, and sometimes the smell of the paint causes a stomach ache. When the chemical is wet, it sticks to the skin and needs to be cleaned off properly with a diluent.
Some other related questions:-
a) Is organic furniture and sustainable furniture the same?
Sustainable furniture means that the raw materials used are purchased legally, i.e. furniture made from dead trees, trees grown by farmers or recycled wood if used is known as sustainable furniture, on the other hand, organic furniture is completely different which determines how much furniture is sustainable . Chemicals are used to make the furniture, and less use of chemicals means higher percentage of organic furniture (100 percent organic furniture production is not possible but a conscious user can reduce the risk by up to 95 to 97 percent).

h) Are wooden choppers good for health?
According to our recommendations, wooden choppers should be made of untreated wood and without joints, i.e. a single board so that it is 100% natural, in this case, it is very good but the choppers available in malls or online are 99.999% treated with chemicals. Information is not shared. It is better to make your own vegetable chopper, it is simple and easy, all you have to do is visit any nearby sawmill, buy a piece of wood according to your requirements and use it. It’s for our health, so forget the finish and appearance of the vegetable chopper, just use the raw wood board and live a healthy life.
