2024 Christmas Home Decor Tour!
Is it me or did Christmas arrive a month earlier than usual? Does anyone else feel like this season is over?
Must be because Thanksgiving was later that year? Whatever the reason, I’m really behind this year. I’ve been wanting to do this tour for weeks…but here we are!
I hope you enjoy this Christmas home tour and that it inspires you! I plan to do a video tour together, and will update this when I do.
Bedroom
I like to add some Christmas touches to our room every year, like our snow-covered tree:

This year, I made all the silver and white ornaments on that tree, but I didn’t hang them everywhere. I gathered them around the tree, in a ribbon of ornaments.
It’s just a different look and I really like how it turned out!
I’ve covered some of my favorite green spaces in Norfolk on our permanent mirror:

I placed it in the wreath and finished it off with a green velvet bow on top:

kitchen

Over the years, I’ve inadvertently started a collection of mini Christmas salt and pepper shakers and other cute little decorations:

I now have four or five sets of Christmas shakers, they are so much fun!

Discovering ways to add form and function in the kitchen has always been fun for me!
I also use these metal bars (from IKEA) on the ends of our cabinets:

And above the stove we have:

The hooks make it easy to add some Christmas touches around the kitchen.

I feel like it makes everything less chaotic, but it’s also very helpful. I always add some holiday touches to the long tray that stays on our countertop all year long:

I love lighting a candle here at night and turning off the lights. There’s something about a soft and bright kitchen!:

I got to share my friend’s amazing cookie making talent! I would use them as decoration if I could:

She brings us these every year, and yes, they taste as good as they look!
entrance

It’s one of my favorite holiday vignettes I’ve ever put together!
It makes me smile when you walk by me every day:

In the entryway leading into our main living area, I hung a few wreaths from above and added some bells and berries:

Family room
The Christmas tree is usually the star of our family room, but this year the fireplace mantel stole the show!:
I went with a different look this year, and used command hooks to bend the greenery and give it a more streamlined look:

Our family room has very high ceilings, but the holiday decor always makes it feel cozy!:

I’ve found so many beautiful vintage finds this year, and this carved Santa figurine was one of my favorites:

Who knows if it’s actually vintage, but I fell in love with it.
Dining room
I always struggle with table centerpieces, especially during the holidays. I don’t want it to be in the way, but I want something beautiful.

I added some burgundy taper candles from the craft store and I finished this off perfectly!
It’s simple and the candlelight is beautiful, but we can still sit at the table and see each other:

The cute ceramic village I found at Costco last year looks great on our food buffet:

It lights up the little houses but I didn’t want to mess with replacing batteries, so I just covered some battery operated fairy lights around the village.
The stairs

Before, I could never arrange the covers properly, and hanging them from the railing made me nervous for safety reasons. (I’ve developed this anxiety about people falling down stairs…I’m a weirdo).
It’s so much easier to hang them this way too!

office
Grass cloth wallpaper is perfect with dark green inserts and moldings on the walls. I had fun adding some nice holiday touches here:

I ended up adding some lights to my DIY wreaths! It is temporarily turned on and turned on in the evening:

Some greenery and bells hanging from a burgundy velvet ribbon added a festive touch to the round mirror in my office:

Wow!! I think that’s it!
I hope as the year ends, you can relax and enjoy the season with the people who mean the most to you.
If you are missing someone this season, I wish you strength and peace. I didn’t mention it in the blog, but we lost one of my sisters earlier this year. This will be our first Christmas without her and it’s very difficult.
Take care! Merry Christmas to all of you!
