Tranquility and modern design flow seamlessly into this Driftwood apartment – designed by Maria Schmutt. This space is inspired by the raw beauty of nature as well as coastal design elements. It celebrates the art of simplicity with warm, woody tones. This is complemented by elegant marble accents and ethereal lighting. Every detail—from the ornate finishes to the earthy palette—creates a harmonious space that feels grounded and luxurious. The Driftwood Apartment is designed to evoke a feeling of calm, transforming your everyday life into an easy retreat.
The living room is a beige and brown affair. The dark wood floors are covered with a velvet rug that adds luxury. The large, spacious sectional ensures there is room to stretch out while watching your favorite show even if square footage is at a premium. An organically shaped mirror near a window reflects light throughout the room, making it appear larger and more illuminated. Meanwhile, the C-shaped table provides similar functionality to a coffee table while taking up much less space.
The Driftwood Apartment kitchen sticks to a neutral palette. The secret of the design is the unique marble veins that appear on the island as well as the back line. The beige cabinets are sleek and without hardware. In this, we see the basic hardware blending seamlessly. Above the island, a light bar ensures illumination.
A large oak table and elegant chairs provide you with space to dine with your loved ones. The ceramic vase and sculptural lighting come together to make a design statement in the space, as does the perfectly round mirror on the wall. Large floor-to-ceiling windows are paired with minimal curtains so the dining area receives natural light throughout the day.
We love using beige in the bedroom. Visual interest is added with contrasting stripes. That is, the horizontal lining on the velvet bed upholstery and the vertical stripes directly behind it. The unique black reading light ensures you get the targeted light while reading your favorite book before bed. Even in a small space, a small wardrobe provides that ultimate luxury experience!
In the bathroom, differently patterned tiles add a touch of interest. These continue to the ceiling, making the bathroom look long and luxurious. A backlit vanity ensures you have the perfect spot for your make-up sessions, while the small sink and built-in bathtub provide optimal performance. There is also a shower cubicle with glass partition. A quick bath or relaxing soak? You decide.
