Do you want to create a first set of tools, but you are not sure what to add it? I am here to help! Below are the basic tools that each owner should enjoy in their toolbox.
When Vinosa and I moved for the first time in 2010, I am sure we had no tools. Well, we may have had one of the mini screws that we kept in our unwanted stairs, but that was about it!
Now that we were in our second house, we built a solid tool group over time. It did not happen overnight. Instead, since we are dealing with a home improvement project, we are looking for the right tools and gradually adding them to our toolbox.
Over the years, I received countless questions about the basic home appliances, so I wanted to assemble this single guide. Whether you are a new owner of the house or lived in your home for years, getting the right group of tools will make a big difference in large home repairs and simple repairs.
These are the tools that everyone should keep in their home. Even if you are a tenant, I think you should have most of these basic tools. What do you do when the tap leaks in the middle of the night and you are available to the owner of the property? This is when you reach your adjustable key!

We have diluted the world of energy tools over the years, slowly adding to our group. In the Power Tools Publishing 101, the dived tools you should invest in, when you should rent purchase tools, and the best DIY projects per one.
Today’s post will focus on the basics. I hope that you will stay away from this post with a lot of DIY and confidence in facing some projects in 2025. I mean, for this reason we are all here, is it?!
The basic tools for the house

Before I dive into the details, here is a full list of the basic tools that every owner must possess:
25 feet feet measuring

Even if you do not consider yourself useful, you are at all, you need to measure a nice tape. I mean, otherwise, how can you know the size of the carpet that must be purchased for your room? Or if this new chair will fit the corner? Everyone needs to measure a tape and you may also get good. Look for one with a comfortable grip and withdrawable code makes it easy to use.
I recommend at least 25 feet, retreat, and has an automatic lock feature. We have a few of these because each DIY project is largely calling for measuring a tape and we would like to have a lot on hand. Until I keep a small tape scale in my bag when I am outside, and I marke.
The bottom line, buy a nice tape and you will use it for years to come!
Gold screwdriver group

The group of basic tools should always have both the screwdriver in Phillips. Or better, buy a multi -part screwdriver with one handle and multiple heads.
Flegid has, well, flat head. (It is also called the upcoming screwdriver.) This screwdriver has not been used often like a screwdriver in Phillips, but you will need it to some collection of furniture, install the exit covers, and more.
The Philips screwdriver was named after the man he invented, Henry Flipse. (Truth: I had to look at this, but I am very happy with the presence of this knowledge in the end!) This is a “+” sign in the end and used in most projects. You will need one if you install the wall anchor, put the furniture together, tighten the door handle, and more.
flashlight

It may not look like a “tool”, but it is definitely a necessary house owner. When the energy comes out, you need a manual lamp on his hand to go to the breaker box and prepare and run things.
Or at least, a good manual lamp to make shadow dolls on the walls and tell ghost stories. Just get one, well? And make sure it has new batteries!
While adding it, buy another one for the emergency set in your home!
hammer

I grew up, my mom had this small tools group called “Do it itself as a set of tools”. At that time, I thought it was really wonderful and I love looking at the tools inside. Now, I am actually insulting the product. Everything in it is lightweight and huge, assuming that women cannot deal with the largest tools. In addition, everything is pink. Harumf. Inside the “DIH” tool collection, she had this small little hammer that looked like a game.
Do not buy such a hammer. Buy a real hammer. A strong and heavy hammer. The quality hammer can make all the difference when the time comes to bomb the nail in the wall. I recommend going with a medium -sized claw hammer (16 ounces. Good) with a rip claw (this is the Pokey Part on the back) and a tangible handle. This is a good hammer that will work well for any family.
Adjustable

You’ll need to be painful for plumbing problems, so everyone should always get one on hand. (What if you need to turn off the water quickly? With this one, you can adjust the size to suit many nuts and nails.
You can also choose a pain group like this one so that you always have multiple sizes on hand.
The devices and square

It is crazy when he realized the number of nails, nails and anchors that we have accumulated over the years. BA, at any time, we were going to the store, we were picking another box of them because at home they were all in a state of hot chaos.
When we moved to our new home, we finally got all our organized devices in this large devices box. Now we only have every nail/anchor/anchoring/anchor on hand, and we are not running to the store five times before we start the project.
If you have just started, I suggest buying a sample devices box like this. It contains everything you need in a wide range of sizes and will be useful when hanging pictures, shelves, hooks, etc. around your home.
Paper knife (cloudable blade)

We had a Janky interest knife for years that were actually frightening for use. The code was rusty and crushed while I was sure that we will need a snapshot of the tetanus if we cut ourselves with this thing.
Now we have a great utility knife! Even if you only use it to cut your charging boxes, you need a interest knife in your tool box!
A group of pliers

Zardia is used to seize. There are some species that you may use, depending on the project, but I suggest that there be a needle nose pliers, buttock atoms, and channel lock atoms on hand.
Safety equipment

I could not create a list of tools without touching the importance of safety. We always have safety glasses, business gloves, and on hand -on -hand facing masks for our DIY projects. Even if you do something small around the house, wearing glasses and gloves will keep your eyes and hands safer.
level

O man, I cannot even tell you the number of straight levels that we have passed. We have small, medium and large levels, but you can just start with a small port level for the daily owners of the home owners.
The reason we bought many levels is that I always use the tiles always – to ensure that the tiles are straight while adding to the wall. I definitely get ThinSet and when it dries, it makes the level, well … not the level! Even if you are just hanging photo frames on the wall, you will need a small level of Torbid, so add it to your tool box.
A lover discoverer

If you hang anything on your wall, you should get rid of the lover’s discoverer. It is not the cheapest element in the list, but it is definitely useful.
Whenever I go to hang anything, I check if I can hit a nail. If not, I am using the anchors so that it is nice and safe. I have tried some road techniques on the wall, however, nothing that does the task like a good researcher for a nail.
Allen Keys (scale and Qaysi)
These l -shaped tools come within reach to assemble furniture, repair devices, bike repair, and more. They come in two types of sizes – standard (inch) and measurement.
We have a huge bag of Allen’s keys, but if you start from scratch, I will choose a set connected to a foldable mechanism. This way all sizes are easily found in one spot!
A group of dug and training

And I know, I know – a strength tool?! Isn’t this scary? no. Wireless drilling tops the list of the best tools for home owners because it is useful for almost any project. I know that many of you may be intimidated by thinking about using exercises, but with a little training, strength training can be your best friend. It is one of the most used tools in our home, which is certain.
I love this group because it comes with a toolbar, charger, battery and dug itself. The training is nothing without parts, so be sure to get a group of these too!
I dismantle everything you need to know about using energy training in this blog post. The post covers all the basics so that you can start using training easily.
Tool box

You clearly need a place to store all these good things and there are many wonderful tool boxes there. Our set of tools has become so large that we have a full box, then some, to accommodate all our things.
If you are a new home owner creates the first home tool group, you must do one of this task!
Additional credit: your home play book

I couldn’t finish this post without mentioning my digital guide, your home play book. If you are the owner of the home, it is a great resource to help you stay at the top of all the tasks that come with home management. Using me constantly and I know that thousands of you are doing too!
Is your home a store?

Now, do you have all these tools on hand? Even if you are not in DIY projects, the presence of a well-equipped tool group is necessary to maintain basic homes and the unavoidable “UH-OH” moments.
But please do not feel that you need to buy everything at once. Start with the basic colors – it may be a hammer, a screwdriver group, measuring a bar – and building your group as you go. The best tool collection is not overnight; It is coordinated over time with the emergence of new projects.
Invest in quality tools; Take care of them, and it will last for years. Trust me, having the right tool on hand when you need it, the difference occurs. A well-equipped equipment group is not only related to home maintenance-it is related to trust, independence and the ability to address everything that comes on your way.
