I know collage walls were very popular in the past, but there is a timeless trend in wall decor – collage wall art. I personally love the collage look of collage wall art, there are so many possibilities. It looks mismatched, but it blends together brilliantly and is very interesting. There is history and interest. These collage walls range from just art to vintage pieces and architectural elements. Who has a lot of personality.
I love the contrast between the dark walls and the gold frames in the photo above. There is also a great mix of architectural elements on this dark wall.
Tip: Add the larger pieces first and then fill with smaller pieces for balance
Collage wall art can also mean abstract canvases that are similar but in different sizes to make an impact.
Tip: Take one design and divide it into panels of different sizes
Vintage paint by numbers pieced together makes a big impact with color and nostalgia.
Tip: Keep art in original antique frames for interest
Family photos have a whole new life grouped together in similarly styled frames like these black frames. Don’t be afraid to use copies if you don’t want to use the originals.
Tip: All frames don’t have to be the same style either, matching colors can make them look cohesive.
Plates are a great item to use in a collage wall as well, especially since the high lead content can make any old dishes unsafe to eat from. Some of the artwork on it is amazing.
Tip: Use dish hangers to keep them in place

Mixing colors and textures and using a magic square to place your collage wall makes it easy. I love that everything on this wall is different but the color brings it all together!
Tip: Simply keep the item in the magic box in your layout for a concise look
via Jane Oliver I hope you can see how beautiful Jane’s wall is in person with all the art! I love the combination of vintage art and her own artwork.
Tip: Post your own work and be proud of it!
Via Kelly Elko I love how Kelly put this together! It really makes me want to start taking all the old oils and new prints I’ve collected over the years and start doing something with them besides just piling them into a pile!
Tip: Fill the entire wall with vintage art for a big impact
Finally, a gallery-style collage wall with vintage prints and other ephemera is a great way to share thrift finds and family heirlooms together.
Tip: When working with a sloped roof, follow the roof line
