Tell us about yourself:
I am the founder of The Well Lived Woman, a women’s therapist, women’s group leader, entrepreneur, and mother of twin boys.
What were your intentions when imagining and designing the space?
The space should be welcoming and warm, feel peaceful, and contain elevated but organic design elements. I wanted it to be pretty but not too precious so that people would really think they could completely relax in it.
Tell me about the circuit room! What inspired this?
I knew I wanted the space to be light and airy, but with all the light and air, I wanted the circular room to be an exception. I wanted it to feel completely separate from the rest of life so that when you walked into it you felt comfortable and safe and accepting of the inherent privacy to allow people to settle in and really open up. The circle is also inherently a communal or feminine form. It was Sarah’s idea to make it rust coloured, and we all got involved. I love that room so much and so does everyone who comes and visits.
How does the space enhance the work you do as a psychologist?
I am often surprised that many therapists do not pay attention and consideration to their office as they invite their clients to do healing work. Environment, beauty, and warmth are essential to comfort someone and prepare them for healing and inspiration. I think my office is beautiful, it feels like one more way I take care of my clients, and when they come in and do work with me in a place that feels peaceful and inspiring, the peace and inspiration flows into the rest of the office. their lives.
