This is the family house that was re -visited in the coastal town of Brunswicks Heads, similar to the breath of fresh air.
Originally, a modest coastal cottage, the current house was in a bad condition when the owners shared the freezer engineers for the project.
Fraser says: “Windows are not working, and as a heavy fiber cement, yet the structure of solid wood was in good condition,” said Fraser.
The summary was to create a “unconventional but small” ground plan with a strong outdoor contact.
This was allowed to take advantage of the construction envelope for the current house, with the diverting the appearance of the house and its feeling completely. A new “half level” is added above and under the current house at the level of division, leaving four division levels connected by a central stairs.
Each half level is woven around a series of gardens, including ceiling gardens and garden vacuum. The covered external area is removed from the building, not only determining the vacuum in the garden but allowing the winter sun to filter over the kitchen/wing.
Inside in the main bedroom is opened entirely out, with adjustable articulated sheet screens that replace windows and doors to contact the ceiling garden.
“Customers wanted to feel internal as an external space,” added Fraser.
These interior spirituality outside Power, are implemented to the material panel in Project as well.
Ensuring that modern residence is not imposed on current street homes in the 1970s, the house is returned from the street and wears black wood to help the house return to the garden over time.
The gum dominating the sun’s sedative designs full of sun, giving the house a honest and simple personality inspired by the “informal” context of the original structure.
“Wood – whether in solid wood or dandruff – was paired with glazed green tiles and the highest bench made of stainless steel to reflect the natural tones of the surrounding environment,” added.
“Large windows overlook the streets that have placed a beautiful Australian paper tree, whose colors link them smoothly in the kitchen plate, which enhances the relationship between homes and natural elements outside.”
