There are only eight days left until Christmas – are you ready (if you’re celebrating)? I have to admit, things seem a little messy here. I’m way behind, but at least the tree is up and shining away! That’s a solid start, right? I’m holding out hope that a little Christmas magic will come next week and solve everything.
Have you seen one of these guys before? The Julbock (Christmas goat) is a Scandinavian Christmas tradition with roots in Norse mythology and pagan harvest rituals. Initially associated with bull goats and fertility symbols, it later became part of Christian Christmas celebrations. Traditionally made of straw and tied with red ribbons, the Julbock symbolizes good luck and holiday spirit. Today, it has become a treasured holiday decoration, and can be seen on tables, window sills and doorsteps. Is there something like this in your country?
Very beautiful! I love the vibe, and I hope my house will feel like that by the end of the week.
Oh, and did you notice the guy on the sled? This type of transportation is especially popular in the northern countryside where there is a lot of snow, and it’s a great way to get around!
Have a happy start to the week!
