NeoGrace – a project by Anastasia Novikova – is a house that redefines the boundaries of tradition and innovation. Intricate wall moldings showcase the best of classic art. Meanwhile, bold, contemporary furnishings require their fair share of attention. This home blends two eras to create a living experience that feels effortlessly luxurious, yet refreshingly modern.
The lobby at NeoGrace is open and welcoming. We see white color dominating the space, setting a modern base. This is complemented by a French-style door that adds a classic touch. A dark wood console table – quite traditional in itself – is paired with contemporary round metal legs.
In the living area, an asymmetrical curved sofa creates a visual interest. This is paired with a black coffee table with a luxurious feel and an arched floor lamp that brightens the space. The artwork in the space also uses black and white contrast.
The classic element of the living room is the antique fireplace. This is surrounded by an asymmetrical decor: an elegant chair on one side and a sculpture atop a marble block on the other.
Dark herringbone flooring ties the space together and can be seen continuing into the kitchen. This space includes a luxurious marble backsplash as well as an island. The matte black cabinets are luxurious in their own right, while the lack of hardware keeps them modern. Finally, the dining table features a chunky base but is paired with simple chairs.
The dark wood cabinets in this space provide storage space, but instantly double as decor, too. A decorative chair gives you a quick place to sit. A floor lamp will illuminate your book as you turn its pages, and an interesting carved side table provides a relaxing place for your coffee. It’s actually a cozy nook, but incredibly sophisticated in design.
NeoGrace’s home office sticks to a simple table, ergonomic chair, and table lamp. The glass-fronted cabinet displays wooden drawers. These bring a traditional touch. There’s also room for guests (in the elegant way). The chunky sofa is paired with a wood block that doubles as a console table, while a decorative art piece brings life to the space.
This bedroom is modern when it comes to the neutral color palette, but the ornate wall moldings add traditional style, as do the wooden tables. (The sense of symmetry these things create also contributes to a traditional ambiance!) Circular pendant lights hang freely in the air, while a statement chair adds a pop of color. The orange artwork is bold enough to form the focal point.
The bathroom at NeoGrace is nothing less than a spa. A black and white color palette, a freestanding bathtub and a large potted plant set the mood. This is further enhanced by the carefully folded towels which can be used as decoration. The dual vanity ensures you can separate your spaces while you get ready!
