A digital art print is an electronic file that you purchase and download at checkout to print yourself. This is one of the most affordable ways to own great quality artwork as you save money when printing it yourself. Depending on the quality of your home printer, you can print it at home or take it to your local printing professional. I’ve always used professional print labs but recently I tried using the Officeworks label printing service and I’m really happy with the quality.
Digital printings save you money as you can often print high-quality artwork yourself for a fraction of the regular cost.
Example of digital printing
One of the main advantages of digital printing is that you can choose to print your artwork on a variety of media. Print and frame it, print it on canvas, or put it on a mug or t-shirt, your options are only limited by your imagination.

Types of digital printing
The most common type of digital printing is inkjet printing and involves placing droplets of ink on paper, fabric or material. Direct to garment printing is when they use inkjet printing to print an image onto fabric, like the shirt above. Wide format printing is used for large scale printing.
I could go on and on about printing methods but my point is that when you purchase digital artwork, the options are endless and you get the power and control to print the piece you love.

How digital art is made
Digital art is created using technology as a primary medium. It involves using digital tools, software, and devices to produce a work of art. There are many computer programs that can create digital art. I personally use Photoshop because it is a program I have used in my photography work and as a graphic designer.
Will digital art be replaced by artificial intelligence?
I don’t think it will replace digital art but I do think it makes it easier for the average person to create, which is great in my opinion! Any time more people interact with their creativity, the world becomes richer with it. I do not support the fear of new technology, I believe that no one can create the same art that you do. No one can be inside another’s mind and extract creativity. When you buy digital art from me, you can’t get it anywhere else! You’re buying art that’s uniquely my creation regardless of the medium used to create it, and that’s pretty cool, when you stop and think about it.
I think AI is changing the way digital artists work. Years ago, I was drawing, scanning, layering and creating artwork that used to take long periods of time to create. Over the years I have offered many digital artworks but have only recently gained the confidence to start selling my digital artwork.
Fast forward to today and I’m using AI in my digital artwork to speed up the process by using text prompts to help create. In my experience, AI is not yet up to scratch, and artworks often need touch-ups in order to be finished. While this can change and improve over time, I believe that as a digital artist, you still need to have artistic merit, which lies in the artist’s concept, skill and expression, not just in the medium used to create it.
Why digital art is important to me
For me, digital art is a creative outlet and a place to express my creativity and relax at the end of the day. I sit on the sofa most evenings and create artwork for hours, which is something I love to do. Not all artwork makes it to the site.
I have spent my entire career working in emergency services, and while I love helping others and feel that service is part of my personality, it is a busy role at times and I often experience high levels of stress and anxiety. Trauma to process. For me, digital art is a stress reliever. It’s soothing to my soul and I hope if you’ve read this far, you’ll spend some time looking through my digital art collection.
